KeyCare Plus Maternity Benefits provides essential support for expecting mothers, covering antenatal check-ups, ultrasound scans, flu vaccinations, and necessary blood tests during pregnancy. After birth, it extends to your baby’s healthcare needs and includes postnatal consultations, nutritional guidance, and mental health support for a healthy recovery.
What are the Discovery KeyCare Plus Maternity Benefits?
1. Antenatal Consultations
With KeyCare Plus Maternity Benefits, you’re covered for up to eight antenatal consultations with your gynaecologist, nominated KeyCare GP, or midwife. These check-ups are designed to monitor both your health and your baby’s development throughout your pregnancy.
2. Ultrasound Scans and Screenings
Your plan includes:
- Two 2D ultrasound scans or a combination of one 2D ultrasound and one nuchal translucency test.
- 3D and 4D scans are covered up to the same rate as 2D scans.
- One chromosome test or Non-Invasive Prenatal Test (NIPT) if you meet the clinical criteria.
3. Flu Vaccination
To keep you and your baby protected, KeyCare Plus Maternity Benefits cover one flu vaccination during pregnancy.
4. Blood Tests
The plan includes a specific list of blood tests to confirm your pregnancy, ensuring a healthy start.
For all KeyCare Plus Maternity Benefits, referrals from your nominated network GP are required to access these benefits.
After Birth Support
1. GP and Specialist Visits for Your Baby
Your baby is covered for two consultations with your nominated GP, a paediatrician, or an ENT specialist up until they turn two.
2. Postnatal Care for You
KeyCare Plus Maternity Benefits extend to postnatal support, covering:
- One postnatal consultation to address any complications post-delivery.
- Nutritional guidance with a dietitian to support recovery and breastfeeding.
- Two mental health sessions with a counsellor or psychologist.
3. Pre- and Postnatal Classes
You’re covered for up to five antenatal or postnatal classes (including online options) and one breastfeeding consultation with a registered nurse or breastfeeding specialist.
